Trend in SC? Lots of Undecideds!

Reuters/Zogby Poll: Obama's Lead Slips in South Carolina

Sen. Barack Obama's lead over Sen. Hillary Clinton in South Carolina has shrunk by four points overall and by nine points among black voters, during the last 24 hours of polling, but he retains a sizable edge, the latest Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby survey shows.

Obama in in front with 39% support from likely Democratic voters, followed by Clinton at 24% and John Edwards at 19%.

Key finding: "Obama still has a healthy lead among African American voters, but lost almost nine points since yesterday, dropping from 65% to 56% support among that group. Edwards, who registered no support from black voters the day before, picked up five points and Clinton added about two points to reach 18% of black support."

Hillary is in good position to win on saturday. I wrote about it in a diary.

Many doubted me on New Hampshire. I know past results don't necessarily reflect future prospects but watch out for the race ending saturday night with a lot of sad media people on camera.

I don't believe anything until the actual results come in. Anything can happen- but if she even gets close to him, it's going to be devastating to his campaign (not that he can't re-bound, of course)

People have missed the story of the "King" bounce for Obama. His vote in the A.A. community is inflated. Also, the undecideds will break for Hillary.

Obama is really the incumbent in S.C. Just as he was in N.H.

Meaning, if you were going to be for him, you are already for him in a state he is slated to win.

Today starts a surge to end this Dem. Nomination in less than 48 hours.

He'll likely win but it will be much closer (none / 0)

than predicted. You have to give it to the Clinton campaign they have maneuvered brilliantly. Obama makes a mistep over stirring up the racial pot and they turn it into a huge minus in broader sense. Then the Reagan interview. The radio ad they are running is very powerful. And yet the WAPO and other media folks in love with Obama are claiming it's distorted. It's his words for godsake. This was a huge clanger and he knows it given the speed at which he's backpedalling. He could be seeing some erosion of his black support but the big deal will be what happens to Edwards. If he seriously slips Obama could lose which would be a catastrophe. I don't think it's going to happen but a narrow win wouldn't be much better.
