Fellow Hillary supporters!

Make your feelings known to the DNC about the nominating process by writing an actual letter and posting it in the mail to the DNC. Here's what I wrote:

SUBJECT: Hillary Clinton Is My Choice

To Whom It May Concern:

My name is X, and I am a lowly and humble member of the Party here in California. I am a Hillary Clinton supporter. I have been devastated by the results of the primary for my chosen candidate, as we have witnessed a woman win the critical primaries of New Hampshire, Nevada, Florida, Michigan, California, Texas, Ohio and Pennsylvania and still be denied the nomination because of arcane rules of delegate apportionment and the unfair structuring of the nominating calendar. The resolve and the dedication of we her supporters are unrivaled from Main Street to the Information Superhighway, as Soccer Moms and Hillary's Bloggers alike have taken to support a woman whose centrist politics and clear thinking are a triumph of the Women's Movement.

I am a 28-year-old African American male, so I fit the perfect mold of a Barack Obama supporter. But I have come to understand in my adult life that ideas are more important than identity politics. And in my mind, Hillary does the best job of any Democrat of presenting to a skeptical electorate the issues that are important to me and others in our Party: affirmative action, women's reproductive rights, labor issues, LGBT issues, education issues, kitchen table economics and national security. This is one of the closest nominating fights in modern political history, and I don't think that one side can discount the other out of a sense of political expediency or simply that the other half of the Party "just didn't get it."

We are at a crossroads. And my question to you is: with everything that is at stake, are we going to risk another close Electoral College loss or do we want a guaranteed win with Hillary Clinton?

If we let our feelings be known, there's no way we will be denied.

Nah. The GOP intentionally didn't attack her with her baggage and other than her blatant Tuzla fabrication they've just been snotty to her not actively undermining her.

While I disagree with your conclusion, I admire your method. That letter is respectful and contains no threats. It calmly states your reasoning.

That said, I hope that if the DNC does not move in the direction you want on this, you will still be a strong advocate for the Democratic nominee.

Lost rate and rec for issuing a '1' to a trollish comment. The troll, not so much.

Except for the "guaranteed to win" bit. There are NO guarantees, and by saying it you undermine your argument.

Of course, the fact that she's already lost also hurts...

Instead of trying to divide our party, you should get on the bandwagon of going after McBush. We need to go after flip flop McBush. McCain + Bush = McBush. The only one who is a worse flip flopper is McRomney.

By all means, write 'em letters. One of my old professors is on the Rules and Bylaws Committee. I e-mailed him, though I doubt you'd have agreed with what I had to say.

Suffice it to say, he was respectful and responsive, but I was not fully persuasive.

Neither will the other side on this one. The truth is, as is so often the case, in the middle.

Well, Michigan and Florida were stripped of their delegates because they advanced their primaries before or in the midst of the "vaunted" states....

You do know that Hillary Clinton signed off on that, of course.

What you may not know is that the structure of the primary - with an unprecidented NINETEEN STATES all voting one month into the convention, was designed to help Hillary Clinton. It was set up by Terry MacAuliffe knowing that she'd be the highest profile democrat running no matter who her opposition was.

Frontloaded primaries leave almost no time to campaign, and favor the well known and well funded. It's why Hillary Clinton's early predictions were that the contest would go to Super Tuesday, but no further. It was supposed to knock out all other competition. When it didn't, it was revealed that her campaign had no idea what to do in the following states, and Obama swept the next 11 contests.

The DNC knows all this, so your letter is unlikely to sway them on its merits. It is a good letter though - thoughtful, concise, reasnable and respectful. I didn't want you to think my big dissertation here was a swipe at you.

We should be able to deliver bottled hot water to dehydrated babies.

Yes, they wanted to increase their influence, broke the rules, and therefore lost their delegates. Of course, the time to raise a stink about this was before the voting happened, not afterward in a transparent attempt to bolster a particular candidate.

The irony, of course, is that if they had just played by the rules they would have had just as much influence as they were seeking, and probably a good deal more.

They aren't 'vaunted' states, they are SMALL states where candidates with less money can compete.

How many times must this exceedingly simple concept be explained?
